Back-to-back victories for Queensland’s Men Interstate Team
Queensland successfully defended their title with victory at the
Australian Men’s Interstate Teams Matches at Royal Perth Golf Club.
Led by the undefeated Tim Hart (Indooroopilly), the Queenslanders
defeated Victoria 7 ½ to 4 ½ to lift the trophy. Hart, Daniel Nisbet
(Caboolture) and Cameron Smith (Royal Queensland) were again among
the Queensland winners in the singles section of the final.
Queensland Team Manager Don Palmer said it was fantastic to achieve
back to back victories.
“When we won last year it was on home turf so to win here, I guess
there’s a hope but not quite the same expectation. Every single player
contributed and Tim Hart certainly distinguished himself as one of two
undefeated players for the week,” Palmer said.
Back-to-back wins for the Queensland men

Golfers Daniel Nisbet, Tim Hart, Cameron Smith, Kevin Marques,
Maverick Antcliff, Chris Wood, Taylor MacDonald and James Gibellini
made up the Queensland team led by coach Richard Harris and
manager Don Palmer.
With Victoria in second place, third went to Western Australia who
narrowly beat South Australia 6 ½ to 5 ½ in the first consolation final for
third and fourth place.
In the second consolation final between New South Wales and
Tasmania, the New South Welshmen prevailed 8-4 to finish in fifth place
ahead of Tasmania.
Queensland has won the title six times and this is the first time they
have won consecutive titles in the Series’ 107 year history.
