ON COURSE Queensland Social Club Championships One point was all that was needed for Brad Hardy and Grant Miller to be crowned this year’s Queensland Social Golf Club Champions recently at the Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club. The team finished with 76 points ahead of Alan Grieve and Kevin Hayden (75) to win the Championship. The individual prize was awarded to Brad Petley who finished with 40 points followed by Alan Grieve on 38 points. Event organiser David Rushmore from The Tour Fore Golfers said the highly acclaimed golf course offered a challenging Championship. “The course was presented in tough championship condition – magnificent and a real test of golf,” Rushmore said. “It was great to welcome golfers from a variety of social golf clubs from across South East Queensland to compete in the Championships.” Rushmore said he worked with the Social Golf Australia to run the Queensland component of the Australian Social Club Championships. “This event continues to grow in stature and the support and participation of all golfers is greatly appreciated.” Social Golf Australia hosts similar state social club championships across the country. The winners of the team and individual competition each receive a discount entry into the following year’s Australian Social Golf Club Championship. The Queensland Social Golf Club Championships is open for teams representing their social golf clubs. The event is a stableford aggregate competition with the best individual scores also winning prizes. www.golfqueensland.org.au Individual winner Brad Petley (above) 2011 QSGCC Champions - Grant Miller and Brad Hardy (below) Q Golf Online Spring / Summer 2011 23
