One of Golf Australia’s key strategic objectives is to assist golf
clubs to increase their membership.
Ideally every golf club in Australia will want to participate in the
program and word of mouth will generate interest from clubs
and golfers alike and hopefully within 12 months Golf Club
Connect will have a majority of Australian golf clubs participating
in the program
With this in mind Golf Club Connect was developed in the hope
that non-club members and, in particular, casual golfers, who
have played or do play the game will find a membership or
“come and try” offer at a golf club attractive enough to give it a
try.
Golf Australia believes that the fact 1.2 million people play
golf annually and that approximately only 440,000 of these
are members of golf clubs means there is plenty of room for
golf clubs to add to their membership numbers. Research tells
us that time, price and flexibility are increasingly obstacles for
people to join a more traditional type of golf membership,
