CONFERENCE

More than 200 of Australia’s Golf Club Managers
came together for their biennial Golf Management
Australia Conference in early September and in
2015 it was the turn of the Gold Coast to host not
only so many Golf Club administrators but many of
the golf industry’ leading figures.
The conference brought together a wide variety of
speakers, their involvement designed to broaden
the knowledge and skills of managers and
introduce them to some intriguing ways to not only
improve their bottom lines but to improve their
relationships with members.

The week started with a welcoming party at
Conference venue, Jupiters Casino, on Sunday
night followed by a day of golf and an evening
function at Sanctuary Cove on Monday before the
conference itself got underway on Tuesday.
This writer had the pleasure of facilitating day one
of the evening functions and day one proceedings
although the opening presentation came from
marketing and customer service expert Amanda
Stevens who, after a lively and entertaining
introduction by Golf Australia Board member
Kerri-Anne Kennerley, strutted her stuff in an arena
purposely set up with the audience enclosing her.
