Queenslanders Shining
on the World Stage

The fourth week of August this
year was not only a great week for
Australian golf but Queensland can
also take a lot of pride in the efforts
of three from its state who won on
the PGA Tour, the Web.Com Tour and
the Japan Golf Tour.
During a week where a much of the
local focus was on the resurrection
of the Queensland Open, Adam
Scott, Bronson La Cassie and Brad
Kennedy, all of whom who spent
their formative golfing years in the
Sunshine State, would win significant
events on their respective tours.
While each would enhance their
own reputations and profile, it was
perhaps Bronson La Cassie’s victory in
Omaha, Nebraska which was the
most rewarding.
La’Cassie, who had battled in
professional golf since turning to
the paid ranks in 2007, won the last
event of the regular Web.Com Tour
season, the above average purse at
the Cox Classic launching him from
33rd to 6th position on the final
money list table, inside the allimportant top 25 and assuring him of
the right to play the PGA Tour for the
