POSTING AND INFORMING YOUR CLUB OF CURRENT EVENTS
1. The minutes of all Executive Board meetings are available on the PWGA website following
board meetings. Many PWGA reps print out the minutes to share the information with their
members at a club meeting. You may wish to underline or otherwise bring to the attention
of your members any pertinent details affecting your area or club or simply post the minutes
on the club bulletin board.
2. You will also receive occasional letters from both USGA and PWGA that will set policy for
your members. You are responsible for keeping your members abreast of these items.
3. You are responsible for posting information regarding the Area Playdays. In some areas,
the PWGA Rep is also charged with the responsibility of forwarding the Area Playday
Reservation forms to the Area Tournament Chairpersons.
4. Fliers will be emailed to you 4-6 weeks in advance of Major PWGA tournaments. Please
print and post them conspicuously…..the entry forms are in the back of the
Handbook…..and encourage your members to participate in these events. The tournament
information is also posted on our website as soon as it becomes available. Online
Tournament Registration is available.
5. Assisting in the management of a tournament at your course may be requested by either
the Area Tournament Chairperson or the PWGA Tournament Chairperson. This might be
in the areas of spotters, check-in help, or other duties. Cooperation is essential to running
a good tournament at any level.
6. There are two meetings a year that are specifically for club officers. The Annual meeting in
October (normally in conjunction with the Helen Lengfeld Tournament) and the Area
Workshops held early in the year. You will be notified by mail of the dates, officers to
attend, and how to make reservations. It is extremely important that your club be an active
participant in these events. In addition to these meetings there may also be Area Meetings
for your club officers to get together with the Area Director.
We, as an organization, have a proud history of achievement. With your help, we can make
things happen for the betterment of all of our members. Just remember, you, as a PWGA Rep,
are very, very important as a link in all of our accomplishments….both past, present and in the
future.
