Collaboration with UT Arlington for the Design of Innovation Zone Pods Professors of the College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs have developed a curriculum where architectural students develop a design for the outdoor innovation pods to be installed on the patio of the new East Arlington Library and Recreation Center. The design not only provides a multi-use outdoor meeting and gathering space for residents, but research for the design will be centered around area residents’ perspectives and desires for their community. The University of Texas at Arlington and the City, aim to develop working spaces that address the needs of the community. These working spaces are funded through the $750,000 Texas Library and Archives Commission grant. The innovation Zone at the new facility will create a tech-centered outdoor space, increase technological capabilities, and help grow the community. BY THE NUMBERS
