Grace

by Rob Wright

Grace is simply an unconditional sense of humor.

It's not about the clumsy fall but the giggle that comes after; no harm done.

Grace is the embarrassing moment that becomes majestic through the ability to laugh at oneself. That laughter is a joyous laughter, crafted by the air of wisdom and inspiration brushing against an awkward stone, eroding but polishing it into art with gentleness and finesse.

This is grace. God bestowed this upon us from the beginning. It is up to us to put that gift to use, first upon ourselves. We must treat ourselves with loving kindness, giving ourselves room to breathe and forgive our missteps. In the life's story, our blooper reels and outtakes are what create the highlight reel.

When we love ourselves, only then can we love others fully. If you can give yourself grace, completely, while honoring your difficulties, you will inevitably give grace to all those you come across. Everyone is on a journey, and all of our stories have a blooper reel.

Do not fear making a mistake; mistakes are beautiful tools. Wisdom is not about being right, for this limits the expansion of understanding.

Freedom comes about through following the flow of life, for each moment is a new expression of creation. There are no absolutes. What seems to be a rocky, dusty road one moment may be a golden brick road the next. Most importantly, just breathe and trust yourself to know the path to walk when you need to walk it.

The hiccups and apparent obstacles are merely markers along the way; showing us the contrasts on our lighted path. These things guide us in a constant flow of life with all of its dynamic.

With accepting this grace, we are able to balance and see from new perspective. This grace will allow us to tap into the true potential of the mind, body, and spirit. We are free to accept them as they are and put an end to the struggle we have perceived. This struggle becomes perpetuated as we cling to a belief that we must change ourselves.

Trying to change is forceful and tiring. Instead we need only to realize a different set of options and a new expression of choices.

We are not defeating the mind. Not battling it into submission or destroying it in any way. Observe it, learn how it works. In that, you can find how to best utilize such an amazing part of you.

We are not overcoming the body. It is our partner. It is our vessel, not our prison. One does not seek enlightenment in order drop the physical being. It is to find it despite physical being-ness.

The miracle is by finding one's self amidst all the distractions and reflections of a cluttered mind and broken heart. Finding the divine self in the material world allows us to witness grace and love in action, playing out before us if we choose to observe.

We are not molding our spirit. At its essence it is pure divine energy. It is perfected. You are perfected, and only by realizing this, can you truly be free.

The spirit is plugged in to it all. The body checks in from time to time; the mind wanders off on its own journey now and then. The spirit is the constant. It can be whatever it wishes to be and experience what it wishes to experience but these experiences are not what defines the spirit. The spirit defines the experiences.

Mind, body, and spirit are three companions on a quest. If they work together, they pool all of their abilities and resources and find triumph, treasure, and joy.

If they fight and miscommunicate, they will get lost among the perils and obstacles that can be found on any adventurous journey.

If you find yourself lost, step back and find that unconditional sense of humor within you. Laugh and know you are found in the exact moment that you realized you were lost.
