sign to Oblivion which was
a nice follow-up to the pre-
vious album The Phantom
Agony. The second album
contains songs like “Black
Infinity”, “Quieitus”, title
song “Consign to Oblivion”
and more importantly, we
can‘t forget the amazing bal-
lad “Solitary Ground”. The
same exact year Epica re-
leases the soundtrack to the
film Joyride, which is named

inspired by the instrumental
versions of songs from the
album Consign to Oblivion. tains songs like “In Love with
the Darkness”, “The End of
Every Story”, a ballad “Like
a Rose on the Grave of Love”
or almost an anthem for the
band - “Now&Forever”.
After Forever releases the
album Remagine and this
is the last album released
under the Transmission Re-
cords. It contains songs
like “Face Your Demons”,
“Come”, “Being Everyone”
or a ballad “Strong”. These
songs definitely shouldn’t
be missing on the playlist of
every fan of this genre. The year 2005 was also a

that Tarja was kicked out
of the band. The last con-
cert she had played was on
21st October 2005 in Hart-
wall Arene in Helsinki. There
is a DVD record from that
concert with the name End
of Era. This concert is high-
ly appreciated by the crit-
ics. There have been some
speculations about the end
of the Nightwish after Ture-
nen’s departure.
New things are happen-
ing in the symphonic metal
scene in Germany. The first
new thing is the new album
of Xandria named India. This
was the first album of the
band in which they had a live
orchestra. The third studio
album of Xandria is a truly
reciprocal album and it con-
Next German (or if you like
German-Norwegian) band
Leaves‘ Eyes is to release
their 2nd studio album Vin-
land Saga in 2005. They nice-
ly followed up their style
from the previous album and
songs like “Solemn Sea” or
the bonus song “Heal” were
really successful.
