NEW ON THE MENU ● Spa Shiki at the Lodge at Four Seasons located in Lake Ozark, Missouri unveils the newest addition to its menu, the Advanced Microdermabrasion Treatment. The healthy skin-care alternative uses medical-grade sodium bicarbonate crystals (baking soda) for an all-natural facial treatment that offers safe and effective exfoliation without exposure to harsh chemicals. MEMBER UPDATES 1 1. Château Élan in Braselton, Georgia celebrates its 20th anniversary with the grand re-opening of its 35,000-square-foot spa. ISPA Board and ISPA Connect attendees were present during the ribbon-cutting event. The US$3-million restoration included a makeover of 14 guest suites, 35 treatment rooms and the spa’s restaurant, the Fleur de Lis. 2. Glenwood Hot Springs, Spa of the Rockies located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, was presented with the 2012 Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor. The spa also won first place by the Post Independent Local’s Choice Awards in multiple categories: Best Local Attraction, Best Place to See and Be Seen, and Best Spa. 3. Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa located in Bernalillo, New Mexico was named “New Mexico’s Organics Recycler of the Year” by the New Mexico Recycling Coalition. Murrieta Day Spa Inc., located in Murrieta, California, partners with Murad, Inc. 4 One of the first spas in the nation to upgrade to the elite status of a Murad Inclusive Health Center, the spa’s new wellness program is based upon Dr. Murad’s innovative approach to total body wellness. During the launch, attendees received mini treatments, gift bags and refreshments as well as met Dr. Murad in person. 5. Rancho La Puerta, located in Baja California, Mexico, launched its family week program to herald the return of a summer tradition that was once a regular event at the Ranch. The program combines classic summer-camp-style activities with unique learning experiences such as Brazilian drumming, yoga, gardening, culinary and jewelry-making. ● BRILLIANT IDEA! 5 The Global Spa & Wellness Summit announced the winner of its fourth annual “Spa of the Future” Student Challenge Competition. Top honors went to the team from the University of Denver for their innovative “Power Spa” concept for teen girls. The concept is dedicated to helping today’s stressed-out, body-conscious teen girls become mentally and physically confident while instilling the importance of self-care, self-acceptance and support.
