There, of course, is excitement for the event itself with booths and sponsorships filling fast and registration numbers growing, but there’s excitement for other reasons as well. As I’ve mentioned before, the ISPA Foundation is working to make consumer research possible. I’m excited to say that due to the generosity of some key ISPA members, that possibility is getting closer to becoming a reality. A huge thank you goes out to Massage Envy, which recently presented a check to the ISPA Foundation to support both the consumer research and the Dr. Howard Murad Research Grant. This money will definitely help to make consumer research possible. Massage Envy definitely shown commitment and I hope others will follow. 2011 ISPA Foundation Board of Directors OFFICERS President Jeff Kohl Red Door Spas Vice President Cathy Cluff Oaks at Ojai Secretary Sharilyn Abbajay Marriott International Treasurer Calvin Martin, CPA, CIC, CRM Calvin Martin & Co., PLLC Another company that has really stepped up to the plate is Miraval Resort & Spa, our 2011 Foundation Auction sponsor. As most of you know, the Auction is the biggest source of DIRECTORS funding for the Foundation. Miraval has stepped up to become the event sponsor and has Lynne McNees ISPA President generously donated two amazing packages with a combined retail value in excess of $16,000. Now, we need all of you out there to bid, bid, bid on these and all the other great items. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our 2011 Raffle sponsors – Clarisonic and Golden Door. The Raffle is an important part of the Live & Silent Auction event and both companies are helping to ensure its success. Clarisonic will be providing two gift baskets for the Raffle with a combined retail value of almost $1,500. These gift baskets will contain some of Clarisonic’s newest products set to be released in October. In addition, Golden Door is also offering a great Raffle prize - a one-week retreat for one with a retail value of $7,500. These companies are perfect examples of members helping members. Their generosity is Deborah Waldvogel Sedona Resorts Jennifer Wayland-Smith Salmon Creek Media & Marketing Ruth Stricker The Marsh, a Center for Balance and Fitness MEDICAL ADVISOR Dr. Brent Bauer, M.D. Mayo Clinic providing the means to make a valuable ISPA member benefit possible. Now it’s your turn. There’s still time to donate to the Auction or Raffle. You can also help out the cause by bidding at the Auction, purchasing Raffle tickets or giving monetarily.
