MEMBER UPDATES 1. Spongeables, LLC Co-Founders Michael and Elaine Popovsky helped comme- 1 morate the opening of the new Dinosaur Exhibit at the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum. The Popovsky’s donated a special kid-friendly infused bath sponge, specially designed for the event called the Tortoseirous Rex . The Tortoseirous Rex is the first and only body-wash-infused TurtleDinosaur, whose habitat is limited to the bathtub and shower. 2. Swiss skin-care brand Alchimie Forever is now the featured product line at Marinello Schools of Beauty located throughout the West Coast. Their products have been integrated into the school’s new laser skin-care program. For 2 over 100 years, Marinello has been educating students to enter a professional career in the Beauty Industry, and this partnership is a true expansion for Alchimie Forever, its first foray in skin-care education. 3. FarmHouse Fresh has partnered with The Woodhouse Day Spas as their preferred Seasonal Treatment Vendor to launch a full 2012 menu. The menu will feature customized teen and mom-n-me treatments that include something for all ages: What’zit? Teen Clean Pore-fecting Facial; Cupcakes and Cartwheels 3 pedi party for celebrations; Beachy Clean pre-vacation primer for moms and daughters; and Lemon-Aid refreshing pedicures that tone, tighten and brighten the look of legs and feet. Each product in the FarmHouse Fresh line is developed with 88 to 99.6 percent natural ingredients, and all products are vegan, gluten-free or both. 4. Alliance Spas Relais santé based in Magog, Quebec recently released the English version of the SPA Standard (published by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec). Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona, California hosted the first-ever Hula-rama event. Partnering with Hoopnotica, the event promoted health and wellness and taught guests the latest fitness trend—hula-hooping. The event was free with paid admission to the spa and also included a host of other activities including: Yoga, guided labyrinth walks, gardening workshops and more. BRILLIANT Busy fashion and beauty editors were thankful for the Red Door Spa Bus during the frenzy of IDEA! New York Fashion Week. The Spa Bus picked them up and dropped them off at different events during the week to help alleviate their travel stress.
