THE SPA SHIFT More announcements marking spa industry players on the move.
● Mindy Terry is named Managing Director of Andurance Hospitality headquartered in Suratthani, Thailand. Terry has also relocated her business, Creative Spa Concepts, to Asia for 18 months to immerse herself in the Asian culture.
● Michelle Gamble is the new Event Director for Questex-McLean Events International. Gamble leaves her former post as publisher of Spa Magazine to help organize the spring and fall SPATEC events.
GIVING BACK
● Spa Gregorie’ s in Newport Beach, California recently hosted the 5th annual Women are Wonderful: In Full Bloom event. The event featured a beauty expo with more than 50 vendors including Clarisonic, Epicuren and NuFace. Attendees enjoyed service demonstrations, custom skin analysis and facial prescriptions. A portion of the entry fee proceeds benefited the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Greet the Day and Working Wardrobes.
OPEN FOR BUSINESS
● The Oaks at Ojai in Ojai, California is in the final stages of renovating their lobby and gallery. During the restoration, original aspects and décor of the hotel built in 1918 were uncovered. The redesign will incorporate a Mission Revival style to help tie the exterior of the building into the lobby. The project is slated to be completed by December 1, 2011.
