Tools OF THE TRADE APPS, BLOGS, GADGETS, BOOKS AND ALL THE LATEST BUSINESS TOOLS. What Activity Tool Are You Using? by Christine Schilling A mangiri Resort in Canyon Point, Utah gets multiple bookings for several of their resort and spa activities from guests in any given day. The challenge then is to consolidate these activity bookings in one central location that can be easily accessed by staff from multiple departments, ensuring in the process that management of Amangiri Spa Guest activities—whether boating trips down the Colorado river, Services Manager group yoga sessions, hot air balloon flights or even restau- James Hunt rant reservations—can be efficiently done and accessed internally by staff. Since it opened two and a half years ago, the resort has been using Opera, an accommodation booking software which uses the Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) interface. The resort, according to Guest Services Manager James Hunt, needed an activity tool that can seamlessly integrate with Amangiri’s existing accommodation software. Currently, Amangiri uses IntelliSpa’s Spa, Wellness and Activities software to provide guests with a complete and accurate itinerary of all of their bookings any time. The software serves as a central repository for all current and past bookings, allowing the resort and spa to achieve the following operational goals: ● As part of the resort’s aim to make the booking experience easy for guests, the tool has helped their guests to instantly confirm tours, spa treatments and reservations. ● The tool helps the resort run “capture rates” on all activities, giving various departments a fast and easy report on areas and services to improve. ● Amangiri can now easily manage retail areas, like its gift shop, using a single integrated POS and inventory system. More than just being an activity tool, according to Amangiri Spa Manager Anthony Andra, the software serves as an internal communications channel, helping speed up the transfer of information as it provides everyone in the team up-to-the-minute advisories on cancellations or itinerary changes. @MassageEnvyWL Massage Woodinville: Need another excuse to pick up some chocolate?
