1. Congratulations to ISPA members Edwin Neill III, president of SpaBiz and former
ISPA Foundation President, and Ada Polla, founder and president of Alchimie
Forever. The two spa industry leaders were married on 1.1.11 in New Orleans.
2. The Marsh, a Center for Balance and Fitness Founder Ruth Stricker is the recipient
of the Minnetonka Community Commission’s 2011 Reflections Award. The award
recognizes individuals, businesses and programs whose outstanding contributions
reflect positively on the city of Minnetonka, Minnesota.

3. Save Your Hands is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its publication Save Your
Hands!, a guide to injury prevention and ergonomics for manual therapists. The
book was written out of necessity in 1995 by Save Your Hands President Lauriann
Greene after she suffered a massage work-related injury. The company now offers
online home study courses, live workshops and a new Certified Injury Prevention
Instructor Program for therapists.
4. The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe was awarded LEED Certification from the U.S. Green
Business Council, becoming the first-ever LEED certified Ritz-Carlton resort. LEED is
the internationally recognized green building certification system, providing thirdparty verification that a building or community was designed and built using
strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most:
energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

Revitalizing Gemstone Ormus Ritual, incorporate gemstones mined in
Colorado. The spa features product lines native to Colorado as well,
including ISUN Alive and Ageless Skincare and Zents Body Care.
The Spa and Wellness Center at Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe,
Virginia recently opened KidSpa. A space dedicated to providing fun
and simplistic spa services to children ages 5-14. The KidSpa was
developed as a response to guests who requested their children be
incorporated into their spa experience. The 45-60 minute “Kid Ritual”
services include manicures, pedicures and temporary tattoos.
The Spa at The Woodstock Inn & Resort in Woodstock, Vermont is
open for guests. The newly completed $10-million spa is housed in a
10,000 square-foot, LEED-designed structure providing a natureinspired ambiance that reflects the seasons that are unique to the New
England region. The spa is designed to maximize natural light and
allows guests to enjoy the surrounding views with indoor and outdoor
relaxation spaces. Each season, a different signature treatment will take
center stage inside the 10 treatment room facility.
