Global Survey Shows iPad Use for Business on the Rise
According to a global survey conducted by IDG Connect, the demand generation division of technology media company International Data Group, professionals around the world— IT and business decision-makers in particular— are seeing the potential of the iPad beyond just a personal entertainment device that’ s intended for living room consumption into a more viable business tool.
Key takeaways from the survey include:
iPad is used as either a replacement or supplementary device.
Total number of respondents who have“ partly replaced” their laptop with an iPad

Respondents from South America who have

The survey adds that the most common documents read by business professionals on their iPads are Excel, Word, and PowerPoint files. Equally, however, it seems likely that many are using their iPads as a filing system for PDF-based reports.
These findings show significant possibilities for you as you determine the best mobile device for you and your sales or management team, and for marketers who need to gain access to decision-makers whether they are on a lean-back mode at home or on the go. Plus, with the availability of new apps and solutions designed for iPads and mobile devices, including new payment systems, some small businesses like start-up spas are turning to iPads for their business operations.
