Economy - The Nigeria economy has been experiencing fragile economic growth in both oil and non-oil sectors after a large recession. This economic growth was largely caused by a rise in oil prices, and has signaled to Nigeria a need for further diversification of the economy.
Political - Controversy has hit Nigeria as Transparency International has revealed that corruption in Nigeria had actually worsened under the Buhari administration. In response, former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega, has urged Nigerians to become more involved in politics to combat worsening corruption.
Culture - Thousands of Nigerians have come out for screenings of Marvel’s Black Panther, with some viewers showing up in Wakanda-like attire. Since its release, the traction of local Nigerian comic books such as Okupe’s Malika: Warrior Queen and Vortex’s Spirit Wars.

Economics: the Australian Tax Office will crackdown on unrenewed Australian Business Numbers- that allow individuals to run a business- in the hope of stamping the 'black economy'.
Culture: an Australian professor wrote an article this week in support of introducing rhinos to Australia in an effort to prevent their extinction.
