Politics: Former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo has encouraged other Nigerian politicians to sign on to Coalition for Nigeria that would plan on ousting current President Muhammadu Buhari, claiming that the country’s political and security situation has worsened under Buhari’s leadership.

Economics: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) anticipates that Nigeria’s economy will grow in 2018 at a rate 0.6% greater than that of 2017. However recent political standoffs between President Muhammadu Buhari and Parliament may serve to stunt such growth and hinder markets.

Culture: The Governor of Nigeria’s state of Bayelsa, Ezenwo Wike, plans on hosting the 2018 edition of the National Festival of Arts and Crafts (NAFEST), to promote cultural diversity in Nigeria and to attract cultural enthusiasts around the world.
