The Buchanan Estate:

A unique space for exquisite events

CARLA SLAVEY CJ Staff Writer
Tucked into a corner of the farmlands of Eubank is an event venue space that is starting to gain some attention from both locals and those from out of the county. It’ s also starting to find its feet, as one of the owners said that more attractions are on the horizons.
The Buchanan Estate, located at 2995 Old Bull Road in Eubank, is a farm like no other around Pulaski. That’ s because
the main event venue site – affectionately known as the Fountain Park – is surrounded by around 500 head of angus beef cattle.
And that cattle can trace its DNA back to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N. C.
Buchanan Estate owner Gina Buchanan, who maintains the property with her husband Kevin, said that Kevin has been a cattle farmer all of his life.
The couple made a friend who was connected with the Biltmore Estate, and 15 years ago the Buchanan
family started a line of livestock that came directly from Biltmore cattle.
So how did the family go from herding livestock to hosting live events?
“ As we purchased more land here in Pulaski County, we got to thinking this would eventually become more than just a cattle farm,” Gina Buchanan said.
There was a particular spot on their 600-acre farm that wasn’ t very suitable for their farming activities, as Gina said Kevin noticed that it was constantly wet
from the springs that were bubbling up on it.
So, Kevin decided they needed to build a pond at that spot, Gina said.
In the course of digging that pond out, he kept asking her to spend time there, she said.
“ I’ m like,‘ I really don’ t just want to go to the mud hole. If I had a walking track or something like that I wouldn’ t care to go out there and hang out while you’ re working in the fields,’” she recalled telling her husband.“ Next thing you know, we got with our
