Florida, with her mom, Rosalee Reed, and her now 16-year-old daughter, Izzy Robertson, about five years ago. She started Tami ' s Tasti Kitchen restaurant in Monticello, and about two years ago went forward with her food truck.
Robertson also does catering for many kinds of events, including weddings.
In fact, in addition to the many amazing flavors offered by the food truck,
Robertson also has extensive experience as a professional baker, with years of experience preparing wedding cakes and desserts. " I ' m kind of a jack of all trades," she said. She served the public as an EMT at one time, then did some teaching and work as a school nurse. However, the craving to do culinary work wouldn ' t let her go. " I decided I wanted to cook," she said. She actually started out doing only wedding cakes, but then decided to offer both food and wedding cakes for her clients. She switched from the brick-n-mortar in Monticello to a full-time food truck a couple of years ago. " I always kinda wanted a food truck," she said. Robertson said she was excited when the opportunity to acquire one came about.
" Somebody we knew had a trailer they wanted to sell," she said.
She started off with that one, which was relatively small, but her cooking talent caught on with the public and it wasn ' t long before she bought a larger new trailer. She ended up selling the first one which someone in Tennessee ended up putting to use as a beverage trailer.
Since then, many a food connoisseur has enjoyed Robertson ' s fine food truck fare at many a festival, business event, holiday event or other special gathering, or just set up at various locations.
She said her full catering services include, in addition to the food, her employees staying at the event to serve and clean.
" Expect courtesy service, smiles, and cleanup," she said.
She said she books up early, so it ' s important to call soon.
