Current owners Mark Haney and his wife Marlene along with Don Haney and his late wife Ann have run the business since taking over for their parents Lawrence and Oreida Haney. Mark’ s sons Neil and David and Don’ s sons John and Mike have been assisting with the farm for the past several years and will take over the business when their fathers retire.
The farm consists of more than 450 acres with an orchard containing 25 varieties of apples and 10 varieties of peaches, pears and nectarines.
Haney’ s has one of the most popular farm markets in the state where they sell their fresh- picked, pre-bagged fruit and apple cider along with a variety of jams, jellies, apple butter, specialty sauces, salsas, honey and sorghum.
And if you would rather have a handson experience, you can venture out into the orchard and pick your own apples.
One of the most popular areas at the market is the attached pie shop, a
destination of its own for a multitude of people because of the delicious fried apple pies made from an old family recipe and served up daily.
The fried pies also come in a sugar-free version as do the fried peach pies served while peaches are in season, usually between June and Labor Day.
The pie shop also has whole apple pies and a host of goodies like fresh fudge, cookies, baked goods and mouthwatering glazed donuts.
Visitors can find a large selection of other items in the shop as well, including candies, gourmet cheeses, country ham, cookbooks, woven baskets and locally made crafts. They also have a large selection of sugarfree items.
In the fall, Haney’ s serves up another hugely popular treat that brings in fans far and wide: their fresh dipped caramel apples.
Out front of the pie shop is a large covered seating area where you can enjoy your fried pies and goodies while they are hot.
A more recent addition to the Haney’ s experience sits adjacent to the market.
