A century ago , a handful of local merchants might have meet for a dinner meeting at Gregory ' s Restaurant in downtown Somerset . Now , hundreds of Chamber members pack The Center for Rural Development ' s banquet hall for their monthly luncheon meeting . And lunch is not the only thing on the menu , as over 117
chamber businesses have set up informational tables at the monthly event . Also , Monthly luncheons feature a wide array of speakers from US Senator Rand Paul to Dept . of Homeland Security Secretary Colin Glover .
And at the end of each year , the Chamber hosts their Banquet & Awards Ceremony at The Center for Rural Development to pay tribute to outstanding businesses and individuals in the community . This year alone , over 900 Chamber members attended the annual year-end gala .
The Somerset Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce has come a long way from their early beginnings . The local organization has not only strengthened the businesses it serves , but it has benefited the entire community with its powerful fundraising capabilities over the past 100 years .
