The Outdoor Life Tackle Test team rolled into the Deep South loaded to
the gills with a collection of 26 reels and 32 rods, ready to face the large-
mouths and redfish of Venice, La. Undertaking our most comprehensive
rod and reel assessment to date, we made thousands of casts and fought
dozens of fish looking for every strength and weakness in our bass gear.

PECHE SUD ROD AND REEL
It’s a bait trap, it can be used for fishing Tarpon, Bar-
racuda, Pargo, Jack. We always use first when we are
prospecting for a new area. It can be used for trolling in
waters ranging from 4 to 15 feet or above coral struc-
tures. It is also launched very well edge, the reflections

effect of the F978. We chose the size 5 “1/4 to get maxi-
