Madeira Botanical Garden
One of the most beautiful gardens in the region, with wonderful views over the city of
Funchal, being located in one of the most peculiar farms of the city, Quinta do Bom
Sucesso.
The farm is dated 1881 by the Reid family who created the garden as their private
park. Today the property is open to the public.
The garden covers an area of 80,000 m² and houses a fascinating collection of diverse
plant species and a research and conservation area. In addition to all these attractive
features, the Botanical Garden also has a Natural History Museum and a cable car that
connects you to Monte.
