Mission: Fort Worth ISD has a diverse population of over 87,000 students in 83 elementary schools, 29 middle schools/6th grade centers, 18 high schools and 16 other campuses. Under the leadership of the superintendent, Dr. K. Scribner, and the Board of Education, the District is undergoing a series of initiatives that will redesign, transform, and revitalize Fort Worth ISD schools. The FWISD Volunteer Program provides support to school-based volunteer programs through the development of strategies for recruiting, training, and recognizing volunteers. It also ensures that volunteers serve in all the schools in an equitable manner and where they are needed the most. In addition and to achieve these goals, it manages a district-wide, outcome and data based program based on automation. FT. WORTH INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT (FWISD) Social Issue Focus: Children, Education PAGE 08 VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS INTERNSHIP FOCUS AREAS: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT MARKETING DEVELOPMENT Volunteer Programs Internship: The intern role will include:  Assist with any task related to community engagement as needed: planning, recruiting, promoting, graphic design, social media, database management, training, evaluation Assist in preparing presentations Research new options for recruitment and recommend suggestions for improvements Prepare meaningful reports to guide planning and decision making Assist with posting and online outreach using social networks and based on outcomes and impact Assist with implementation of 100x25 FWTX Initiative as it pertains to parent and community engagement. The goal of the initiative is to have 100 percent of third-graders reading on or above grade level by the year 2025. Co-chair the design and implementation of Annual Volunteer Appreciation event  Design a tentative social media plan for strategic volunteer recruitment and to complement existing automation based on analytics and cost/benefit analysis
