Understandings Governing the Parent-Teacher-Friends Association-Modified ( PTFA-Modified ) of Cornerstone Christian School
Description : The Parent-Teacher-Friends Association-Modified ( PTFA-Modified ) of Cornerstone Christian School ( CCS ) is authorized by the CCS Board to function in years when the PTFA ( Parent-Teacher-Friend Association ) is unable to function according to the stipulations of their by-laws . The PTFA-Modified is established by the CCS School as follows :

NAME : The name of the group is the Parent-Teacher-Friends Association-Modified ( PTFA-Modified ) of CCS .
PURPOSE : The purpose of the PTFA-Modified is to accomplish the objectives ( see by-laws ) and organize the activities ascribed to the PTFA in an informal way , and to create momentum toward the reestablishment of the fulfillment of the by-laws of the PTFA .
DESIGNATION TO COMMENCE ACTIVITIES : Each year , by June 1 , the operating leadership group will file a “ Statement of Intention ” with the Head of School . This document states the intention of the existing group , either PTFA or PTFA-Modified , to establish a chapter of either the PTFA or the PTFA-Modified for the following school year . All petitions , once granted , are in force for one school year , and can only be amended by the approval of the CCS Board .
Attached to the Statement of Intention will be a list of candidates for office . It is the full list of officers seeking responsibility for the PTFA or the PTFA-Modified that will guide the Head of School and School Board in reconstituting the PTFA or the PTFA-Modified annually .
MEMBERSHIP : � All Parents whose children are enrolled in CCS are voting members of the PTFA-Modified by definition . � All teachers and staff members of CCS are voting members of the group . � The Executive Team , which is led by the President , includes all the officers listed within these bylaws , a teacher representative selected by the Core Team ( from nominations by the Head of School ), and the Head of School or her / his representative .
� Friends from the community are welcome to participate in the operation of the group , but these friends do not have voting privileges .
MEETINGS : The PTFA-Modified will organize a PTFA-Modified gathering of the larger body ( that may be incorporated into other pre-existing events , such as official participation in larger school fundraising events ) at least quarterly . A quorum of officers must be present at any official gathering . A quorum includes at least half of the Executive Team plus the Head of School ’ s representative . A quorum is never less than four people . Gatherings must be cleared in advance with the administration of CCS .
