Showcasing arts, ideas and experiences from around the world
As part of the Port St. Lucie International Fest, the Arts & Ideas Experience showcased a world of cultural experiences. Led by the Communications Department, with project leadership from Maritza Diaz-Ott, the event provided a creative and interactive space where residents could immerse themselves in fashion, dance and music from different countries while engaging with City staff.
Highlighted by live music from Leo Von, residents walked the red carpet and selected activities such as drumming by Kevin Beatkeeper and dance workshops in Greek, tango and Afro- Cuban styles. The Cultural Fashion Exhibit was displayed for an extended period, from Nov. 22 to Dec. 1, showcasing garments contributed by residents from Haiti, Latin America, the Bahamas, Ukraine, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Palestine, Israel, England and other regions.
Guests also explored World in Bloom, a vibrant exhibit by the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens that celebrated floral varieties and their cultural significance. Visitors engaged with City booths and enjoyed a selfie station featuring a flower wall.
