Emergency Management

Emergency Management celebrates Florida City Week
Emergency Management staff participated in Florida City Week. This week-long event is a statewide celebration hosted by the Florida League of Cities, which honors the essential role of municipal government. It brings communities together to learn, engage and appreciate the services that ensure the smooth operation of our cities.
Throughout Florida City Week, Emergency Management collaborated with other City departments and took part in events at five schools. These events were attended by approximately 570 students and provided them with an opportunity to connect with local leaders, explore City services and gain firsthand knowledge of how emergency preparedness protects and empowers our community. Emergency Management staff discussed preparedness topics and techniques, and shared resources available to residents of all ages.
These events not only showcased the dedication of our Emergency Management team but also reinforced the importance of civic engagement and community resilience through education and collaboration with students and residents.
