Love Your Block opens new door for Whispering Pines resident
Thanks to 12 volunteers from H & M Impact Window & Door and a Love Your Block program mini grant, powered by the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University, a new front door was installed efficiently and professionally, improving insulation, comfort and security for Diane Matthews, a homeowner in Whispering Pines.
Five volunteers helped with the installation and seven assisted with the clean-up. Beyond the physical improvements, this project fostered community pride and collaboration among residents, volunteers and partner organizations. The Treasure Coast High School Key Club also made a big impact by assisting in a neighborhood clean-up, collecting and properly disposing of 15.25 pounds of litter to enhance the area’ s appearance.
“ I couldn’ t be happier," Matthews said. " This helps me feel very safe and secure and my home is now more energy efficient. I am very grateful for the City of Port St. Lucie and Love Your Block.” www. CityofPSL. com / News
