New roundabout, improvements for residents in Torino
The City announces the completion of improvements to East Torino Parkway, which now features a new traffic configuration, a modern roundabout. This new infrastructure includes convenient sidewalk connections and a designated school bus stop, enhancing accessibility and safety for the community.
Roundabouts have proven to be an effective solution and are known to improve safety by reducing the likelihood of accidents, easing congestion, minimizing pollution and controlling vehicle speed. Additionally, the new roundabout enhances traffic flow and spotlights artwork as part of the City’ s public art initiative. This new roundabout replaces a former four-way stop, offering a streamlined and efficient traffic solution.
In conjunction with the roundabout installation, the City also has upgraded the intersection of East Torino Parkway and Midway Road. This enhancement includes the addition of an extra lane and a sixfoot shoulder, providing a dedicated left-turn lane, a shared left-through lane and a dedicated rightturn lane with a shoulder for the northbound approach. These modifications are designed to facilitate smoother traffic movements and support overall safety.
