Celebration for All-America City & Stewardship Awards
On Sept. 12, we gathered at The Port to celebrate a momentous occasion: Port St. Lucie being named an All-America City by the National Civic League!
Strategic Initiatives & Innovation( SII) is honored to have been part of the dedicated team that helped bring home this prestigious award. This recognition reflects the incredible work our employees and residents have done over the years to promote environmental sustainability and community engagement.
SII played a key role in the application and presentation process for the award and proudly hosted a booth at the event, with Grants & Strategic Initiatives Project Manager Sabrina McLeod serving as a team co-captain. Our booth highlighted Naturally PSL: Green Spaces and Places, the residentdriven innovation project led by the Strategic Initiatives & Innovation Team, showcasing exciting updates like the progress on the trails map and the growth of the Conservation Corps.
We were also honored to welcome Rep. Toby Overdorf and Rep. Dana Trabulsy to the celebration. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the completion of the new boardwalk, made possible through the support of FIND( Florida Inland Navigation District), with FIND Commissioner Paul Trabulsy representing the organization. We were also proud to have our Mayor and City Council in attendance, showing their continued support for sustainability, civic engagement and the Naturally PSL initiative.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the National Civic League for recognizing our city and to their President Dough Linkhart, who joined us in person to deliver a powerful speech and present the award.
A special thank you goes to Alexis Baum, the Bloomberg coach, and Abby Miller of the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University, who worked closely with our team to train and guide us in developing what would become Naturally PSL. Their support was instrumental in shaping this initiative into the success it is today.
