Council approves FY 2025-26 adopted budget
On Sept. 22, City Council unanimously approved the adopted budget of $ 870 million for the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1.
The Office of Management and Budget presented the Fiscal Year 2025-26 proposed budget for adoption to Council during the budget hearings Sept. 8 and Sept. 22.
The adopted budget includes a total millage rate of 4.9750, which is a reduction of 0.0800 from the current year. This means property owners are saving $ 0.08 for every $ 1,000 of taxable property value.
The chart below shows that property values in the City have steadily increased while the millage rate has declined each year over the past 10 years.
This is the 10th consecutive year Council has reduced the millage rate. Council’ s direction advances the City’ s goal of being a High-Performing Government Organization while being fiscally responsible to meet the demands of our growing city.
