City Council lowers property tax rate for 11th consecutive year
Port St. Lucie residents will see another reduction in the City’ s property tax rate.
As part of the Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget adopted Sept. 28, City Council unanimously lowered the millage rate from 4.9750 to 4.8750. This marks the City’ s 11th consecutive year of lowering its property tax rate.
Since 2016, Port St. Lucie has reduced its millage rate by 25 %, saving the average homeowner nearly $ 2,000 over the past decade. The City maintains the third-lowest municipal millage rate among Florida’ s 20 largest cities. The $ 971.6 million budget supports continued investment in roads, drainage, utilities, infrastructure and public safety as Port St. Lucie welcomes more than 60,000 new residents since 2020.
