Code partners with Communications to create new residential parking infographic
The Code Compliance Department worked with the Communications team to develop an infographic that visually shows common parking violations and offers insightful tips.
COMMON VIOLATIONS AND TIPS
While Code Compliance inspects for and enforces many codes and ordinances, the following are the most common residential parking violations reported.
TOO CLOSE TO A FIRE HYDRANT / STOP SIGN Vehicles may not park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant or within 30 feet of a stop sign.
STORING / PARKING A VEHICLE / RV / TRAILER IN THE BACKYARD: It is prohibited to store any vehicle / RV / trailer in the backyard unless behind a permitted 6-foot privacy fence.
VERTICAL PARKING / PARKING IN THE ROAD Vehicles parked in the City swale must be parked with the flow of traffic, parallel to the road.
Vehicles must be parked at least 12 inches from the roadway.

UTILITY TRAILERS / RV’ S IN THE SWALE Utility trailers and RVs are prohibited from parking in the City swale.
SIDE OF THE HOME Vehicles / RVs / trailers are permitted to park in the grass on the side of the home.
FRONT YARD PARKING Vehicles / RVs / trailers are prohibited from parking in the grass in front of the home and must park on approved driveway surfaces( cement, asphalt, pavers or stone / rock).
