Housing staff attends conference
The Neighborhood Services Department was well represented at this year’ s Florida Housing Coalition REPAIR Conference in Orlando. The REPAIR Conference advances housing solutions that are reachable, equitable, permanently affordable, available, innovative, resilient and built to last for our residents.
Staff members Christina Flores, Daisy Ruiz, Ruth Platts and Tyna Renner participated in sessions highlighting innovative strategies in affordable housing. Director Carmen Capezzuto spoke during a panel discussing the City’ s Community Land Trust program, sharing insights alongside other industry professionals who are advancing similar programs across the state. Their participation underscores the City’ s continued leadership and collaboration in expanding permanent affordability and strengthening housing opportunities for residents.
Code staff attends August TCACE meeting
On Aug. 13, Code staff attended the Treasure Coast Association of Code Enforcement( TCACE) training hosted by St. Lucie County.
The training focused on protecting public health and opportunities for collaboration between code enforcement and the Florida Department of Health( DOH), Environmental Public Health Division( EPH).
The presenters gave an overview of DOH EPH programs, discussed their investigation and enforcement methods, spoke about their emergency response duties and offered opportunities for future collaborations with code enforcement agencies in the area.
