From ashes to action: Utility crews answer the call
When a St. Lucie County Fire District operation encountered an unexpected equipment failure, the City of Port St. Lucie Utility Systems Department was ready to help.
Following a request for assistance, the Water Distribution team quickly mobilized personnel and equipment to a residence on South Indian River Drive, where firefighters were working to remove portions of a home destroyed by fire. Despite the challenging conditions, including an extremely tight and potentially hazardous work area, Utility crews safely positioned and operated the equipment needed to help complete the operation.
Water Distribution Supervisor Jason Hernandez led the response, with Logan Caradonna and Anthony Dibernardo playing a key role in safely mobilizing the equipment to the site.
Thanks to the team ' s quick response and commitment to safety, the operation was completed successfully. St. Lucie County Fire District expressed its sincere gratitude for the Utility Systems Department ' s assistance, demonstrating the strong partnerships that exist between neighboring agencies and the willingness of City employees to step up when the community needs them most.
Whether serving our residents or supporting our public safety partners, our Utility professionals continue to exemplify teamwork, professionalism and service beyond our city limits.
