Managing traffic congestion: Presentation to the American Public Works Association Treasure Coast Branch
Antonio Balestrieri, Manager of Traffic Operations in Public Works, delivered a lunch and learn presentation to the American Public Works Association( APWA) Treasure Coast Branch on strategies for managing traffic congestion in one of the nation ' s fastest-growing cities.
Antonio discussed the City ' s historical development and growth, followed by an overview of current infrastructure plans and ongoing projects. He emphasized that traffic is the primary concern among residents and described the City’ s efforts to address mobility challenges through data-driven initiatives and technological advancements.
Notable examples include the signal coordination plan for Becker Road, Fairgreen Road, Crosstown Parkway, Tradition Parkway and Village Parkway. Antonio highlighted additional measures such as traffic calming, roundabouts, enhanced connectivity, a comprehensive mobility plan and future improvement projects.
