Park and Recreation Month July was packed with energy, movement and community spirit as we celebrated Park and Recreation Month with two unforgettable events.
The celebration kicked off July 10, with a special tai chi class led by Gail L ' Esperance. The 45-minute session welcomed a fantastic crowd, with participants embracing the calming movements and peaceful atmosphere. The class was such a hit that many attendees signed up to continue their wellness journey by joining the Fitness Park Pass tai chi classes for the rest of the summer.
The fun continued July 18 when more than 100 participants lit up the MIDFLORIDA Event Center for our exciting Glow & Groove event. Dressed in vibrant neon and glow-in-the-dark attire, attendees of all ages danced the night away in a celebration of fitness, fun and community.
The evening featured an energetic drumming session led by Jill Souza and an electrifying Zumba workout with Suzy Wesly and Gaby DeCarvalho. Their enthusiasm kept the crowd moving and smiling from start to finish. Glow & Groove was a glowing success, bringing neighbors together through music movement, showcasing“ The Power of Parks and Recreation."
Rock Steady Boxing volunteers thanked The fighters, corner people and coaches of the Rock Steady Boxing program got together and proudly recognized and thanked the volunteers who make the program possible. Their compassion, dedication and unwavering support mean more than words can express.
Through their encouragement and motivation, they inspire our fighters to“ fight for their life” every single day. Whether it’ s offering a shoulder to lean on, helping with gloves, tying a shoe, setting up the room before class or simply showing up with positive energy, they provide steady support when it matters most.
Our fighters face emotional and physical challenges and, at times, we have even lost members of our Rock Steady family. Through it all, our volunteers continue to stand beside us with compassion, strength and heart. Their dedication keeps the classes running and the entire program moving forward.
Without them, our Rock Steady Boxing program would not be possible. We are deeply grateful for their commitment and the difference they make in the lives of our fighters.
