Free chlorine program featured on local news
Halfway through the annual Free Chlorine and Flushing Program, Jack Wu from CBS 12 interviewed Acting Water Treatment Plant Superintendent Dan Burdett about the process.
Dan showed the news crew around the Prineville Water Treatment Facility and explained the benefits of the industry-wide standard practice of free chlorination. The program lasted about two weeks and temporarily modified our disinfection process to help maintain the highest possible water quality.

Utility Systems named Department of the Year
The annual Heart of PSL Awards for the 2025 Department of the Year was presented to the Utility Systems Department at the City Council Summer Workshop on July 23.
Utility Systems Director Kevin Matyjaszek expressed in an email to staff,“ Our ability to be nominated and then to receive this prestigious award was only made possible because of the daily contributions each of you makes toward maintaining the department’ s mission and achieving our goal of providing exceptional support and service to each of our more than 97,000 customers.
