Office of Emergency Management supports Martin County’ s hurricane exercise
On July 1, the Office of Emergency Management( OEM) staff supported Martin County’ s emergency management team during its annual hurricane exercise.
As part of our ongoing commitment to building regional resilience and strengthening emergency preparedness across jurisdictions, our team was invited to serve as official evaluators, along with members from the Florida Division of Emergency Management, for the multi-agency exercise, which simulated the landfall and response efforts in the aftermath of a major hurricane event.
These exercises are a critical part of ensuring emergency operations plans remain effective, efficient and ready to protect life and property in the event of a real disaster. By participating as evaluators, our OEM team contributed to a detailed and objective review of the exercise, focusing on coordination, communication, decision-making and response operations.
Moving forward, our OEM team will continue to work closely with our regional partners to support joint training, participate in coordinated exercises and share critical resources and expertise. Building strong relationships across local and state agencies enhances our ability to respond effectively and recover more quickly in times of crisis.
