Celebrating achievement and community spirit
Members of the City of Port St. Lucie and the Public Works Department recently demonstrated their dedication to community engagement and personal achievement at the Juneteenth 5K event.
Councilman David Pickett proudly secured first place in his age division. Public Works Assistant Director Louis Johnson was recognized for his exceptional performance, earning second place in the same age group. Michelle Reid, Public Works Supervisor of Permitting Customer Service, also finished first in her age division.
These accomplishments reflect the commitment and spirit of the City and the Public Works team. Their participation in local events not only strengthens community bonds but also exemplifies the department’ s drive for excellence. Congratulations to all the winners for representing the City and Public Works so well and inspiring others.
Infrastructure improvements strengthen neighborhood
The City of Port St. Lucie Public Works Department successfully completed a culvert replacement project located between two homes along SE Westmoreland Boulevard. This initiative is part of the City ' s ongoing commitment to upgrading its aging infrastructure, ensuring neighborhoods remain safe and resilient.
By installing a new culvert, Public Works has improved drainage in the area, helping to prevent flooding and supporting overall water quality. Replacing old infrastructure is crucial for maintaining reliable stormwater management and protecting the environment and property owners. Residents can expect enhanced safety and functionality as a result of these improvements.
