Innovation you can stand on: Facilities team crafts drone stands, completes ramp build
When our organization needs solutions, the Facilities Maintenance Department doesn’ t just step up— it builds up!
In June, the team completed two major fabrication projects that support the Police Department ' s initiative and showcase the craftsmanship, versatility and pride that define its work.
Across all designated project locations, the team has designed, fabricated and installed custom drone stands, a product of our own people, our own tools and our own ingenuity. The result is a stable, professional platform that enhances PSLPD ' s operational safety and efficiency. The financial impact is just as remarkable as the craftsmanship. The drone stands, quoted by an outside vendor at $ 25,000, were completed in house for $ 4,000, an 84 % savings.
At the center of the fabrication effort is Richard Brendlinger, whose welding expertise helped bring the drone stands from concept to reality. Richard also completed another key project for PD: the new evidence shed ramp, built to improve accessibility, safety and workflow for personnel moving equipment in and out of the space. The ramp followed the same pattern of value and ingenuity, costing only $ 3,500 in materials versus a $ 15,000 external quote, a 77 % savings. His precision, craftsmanship and commitment to quality are visible in every weld and every angle.
