Celebrate America ' s 250th birthday at Port St. Lucie ' s Freedomfest
Port St. Lucie rang in America’ s 250th birthday in style as thousands gathered at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center for this year’ s Freedomfest celebration. The free, family‐friendly event delivered an evening packed with music, community spirit and patriotic flair.
The night kicked off with local music favorites Girlfriend Material, setting an energetic tone before Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Max Weinberg took the stage. Weinberg’ s interactive“ jukebox” performance kept the crowd rocking as attendees selected classic hits for the band to play live.
Families enjoyed a variety of activities, including the festive kids’ zone and the History Hall of Faces, which offered playful, life-size cutouts of notable figures. Food trucks, a bustling marketplace and a photo booth added to the festival atmosphere.
Later in the evening, the sky lit up with a dazzling Luna Lites Drone Show, followed by a vibrant fireworks finale from Zambelli Fireworks International. Earlier in the day, runners participated in the inaugural Freedomfest 5K Walk / Run, kicking off Independence Day with fitness and fun.
The fireworks finale brought Freedomfest to a close, capping an evening that served as a tribute to America’ s 250 years and a celebration of Port St. Lucie residents ' community spirit.
