Advocating for the City’ s federal priorities
City officials traveled to Washington D. C., in May to advocate for Port St. Lucie’ s priorities in alignment with the adopted federal legislative program.
Mayor Shannon Martin and Deputy City Manager Kate Parmelee met with officials from the U. S. Department of Transportation, White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and the City’ s federal delegation, including Sen. Ashley Moody to discuss key federal funding priorities ranging from transportation to water quality and tree planting. Mayor Martin also advocated for the City’ s federal appropriation requests which are being sponsored by Congressman Brian Mast.
Vice Mayor Jolien Caraballo met with the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to advocate for the City’ s economic development needs.
The City of Port St. Lucie is grateful to the City’ s federal delegation, including Congressman Brian Mast, Sen. Ashley Moody and Sen. Rick Scott for their support and partnership in addressing the needs of our growing City.
