Rock Steady Boxing team raises funds for research, awareness about Parkinson ' s disease
On April 5, our Rock Steady Boxing coaches and volunteers participated in Moving Day Palm Beach. One of the boxers in the Parks & Recreation fitness program, known by the fighter name " Aloha," formed a team for the walk, which successfully raised an impressive $ 27,000 to support Parkinson ' s disease research. The team dedicated its efforts to the memory of " Fox," a beloved member of the PSL Rock Steady family who sadly passed away last month.
Jill Souza, fitness supervisor, led a drumming and dance session to a crowd of more than 400 participants. The event not only celebrated the resilience of those affected by Parkinson ' s, but also fostered a sense of unity and support within the community.
April is Parkinson’ s Parkinson ' s Disease Awareness Month, and Parks & Recreation ' s fitness team is proud to raise awareness for this important cause. On April 11, which is World Parkinson’ s Day, each fighter punched for one minute straight as fast and as hard as they could to show support for each other and all those around the world fighting this disease.
