Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful

KPSLB’ s annual Caring Community Cleanup gives City spring cleaning to get ready for America’ s 250th
This April, as we celebrated the 56th annual Earth Day, Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful invited residents to join in its yearly spring-cleaning event, the Caring Community Cleanup, to come together to help keep Port St. Lucie clean and beautiful.
This cornerstone event, organized every spring as part of Keep America Beautiful’ s Great American Cleanup initiative, is the heart of the KPSLB program: preserving Port St. Lucie ' s natural beauty and sustainability through volunteerism and active participation.
This year, 304 volunteers demonstrated their commitment to a cleaner, greener city, collecting an astonishing 1,820 pounds of litter! Since 2014, volunteers at the annual event have collected more than 29,000 pounds of litter and debris!
Returning exhibitors included St. Lucie County’ s Oxbow Eco-Center and the UF-IFAS Extension Campus, while the Manatee Center of Fort Pierce joined us for the first time. Other City departments, including Parks and Recreation, the Office of Solid Waste and Naturally PSL, also chatted with volunteers throughout the day as kids enjoyed face painting by Joanne, balloon twisting with Brandon the Magician and cool confections from Kona Ice. www.
