Inaugural field trip days provide info while sparking curiosity
The City ' s first-ever field trip days April 8 and April 15 turned into a genuinely memorable experience for everyone involved.
M ore than 130 parents, students and teachers came out to learn how the City works behind the scenes. Public Works, Utilities, Parks and Recreation, the Office of Solid Waste, Communications and the Police Department all stepped up with hands‐on presentations that gave families a closer look at the services they rely on every day.
Even the weather couldn’ t slow things down. When rain hit on the first day, the Community Center graciously opened its doors and gave the group a dry, comfortable space to continue learning. The Police Department also provided crossing guards, keeping everyone safe as groups moved between locations.
