Culvert Replacement Project enhances stormwater management
The City of Port St. Lucie continues to invest in critical infrastructure improvements with the successful completion of the SE Westmoreland Boulevard Culvert Replacement Project. This initiative focused on replacing an aging drainage culvert located near the intersection of SE Westmoreland Boulevard and SE San Jeronimo Road. The project started in September and was completed in March, as part of the City ' s ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade infrastructure.
The replacement of the culvert was necessary to ensure efficient stormwater flow, reducing the risk of flooding and improving overall water quality in the area. In addition to installing the new drainage structure, crews reworked the canal bank to create a uniform profile consistent with the rest of the canal, enhancing functionality and appearance. The successful completion of this project highlights the City’ s dedication to proactive infrastructure maintenance, benefiting residents and supporting the long-term resilience of the community.
Through ongoing projects like the SE Westmoreland Boulevard Culvert Replacement, Port St. Lucie demonstrates its commitment to providing reliable public services and safeguarding neighborhoods against stormwater challenges.
