Celebrating Procurement Month
The Office of Management and Budget is proud to announce the Procurement Division had March is Procurement Month and OMB kicked it off with a summit for governmental employees. The half-day event on March 7 featured leading public procurement professionals who presented on relevant procurement topics, including values, ethics, strategies, technology, risk management and legal compliance.
Presenters included former City Manager Russ Blackburn; nationally recognized retired procurement director David Nash; City of Orlando Procurement Director Carrie Mathes; the City’ s legal and risk management professionals Ella Gilbert and Alyssa Lunin; and Krista Lugones from OpenGov. A total of 12 outside agencies participated in the summit, including other cities, counties, villages, sheriff offices, fire departments and school boards.
The Procurement Management Division concluded Procurement Month by hosting a vendor engagement event March 28 at the Community Center.
PMD team members collaborated with representatives from Parks & Recreation, Utility Systems Department, Public Works and the Facilities Department to provide vendors with insights on how to do business and partner with the City. The expo offered vendors information about the various business opportunities available with our City departments, as well as guidance navigating the City’ s procurement process. Roughly 100 vendors from throughout the state, and as far as North Carolina, attended the informative seminar.
Kudos to the Procurement Management Division for engaging a record number of public professionals in the Treasure Coast and beyond.
