Office of Emergency Management attends Local Mitigation Strategy Working Group
On March 19, the Office of Emergency Management participated in the Local Mitigation Strategy( LMS) Working Group meeting. This group brings together stakeholders from across the St. Lucie County area to discuss mitigation strategies and tactics aimed at helping their organizations and the community respond to and recover from major incidents.
During the meeting, stakeholders discussed potential mitigation projects and strategies that could benefit the Treasure Coast following Hurricane Milton in October.
Additionally, St. Lucie County and its municipalities are beginning the process of updating the LMS Plan. These updates will involve a thorough review of the hazards the community faces, as well as exploring new ways to reduce vulnerability and enhance resilience.
